Fish Baby
A small, cat-eared fish you steer with your voice. Hold a steady note and she swims through the gaps.
Practice that doesn't feel like practice.
She rises as your voice goes up and sinks as it comes down, around your own comfortable pitch. Nothing asks you to reach for a note. The golden trail behind her rewards holding a note steady, never how high it is.
- Hum or sing to swimA steady "mm" or "ooh" works best. Go a little higher or lower to line her up with each gap.
- Three pink heartsBrushing a gap costs one. Stopping to breathe never does, and neither does resting.
- No scoreThe water never ends. What she remembers is the furthest place she has swum to, not a number to beat.
- It counts as practiceTime swimming adds to your day's practice, and she'll suggest a break when your voice has done enough.
Eight zones down, and a moonlit swim back up.
The gaps get harder and then ease off again, in waves, so there's always a breather coming.
Along the way: 35 creatures and secrets to spot for her journal, from a school of blue tang to something watching from the shipwreck. A few only turn up on special days.
Dress her however you like.
Hats, colours and patterns, including trans pride stripes. Some are found by swimming further.
- Sunny, as she comes
- Pride stripes
- Lilac, in a crown
- Mint, with flowers
- Midnight witch
- Rose, headphones on
- Sky, in a beanie
Optional: see the ranges in the water
Turn on soft pink and blue light to show where typically higher and lower voices sit, or a strip at the edge, or nothing at all. Nothing changes colour because of where your voice is.
Fish Baby lives in the Play tab of Trans Voice Coach. She's free.
